Curbside Collection Guidelines

Customers will be offered a cart(s) according to their service package with refundable deposit. Carts remain property of One Planet Sanitation to ensure proper and timely repairs are made and carts are refurbished as necessary. If you do not wish to use one of our carts, you may supply your own equivalent to 96-gallons and not to exceed 40 pounds when filled. Please be aware we may place a label on the cart for our drivers.

  • We will collect an additional two (2) extra bags of trash outside of carts free of charge, bags beyond this limit will be charged an additional $2.00 per bag.
  • Customers will be assigned one regular, weekly collection day for all services. We observe the following holidays.
  • Carts and yard waste must be at curbside by 6:30am on pick up day. We cannot guarantee collection if it is not at the curbside by this time.

Remaining 2022 Holiday Schedule

  • Labor Day, September 5th- All customers will be delayed one day.
  • Thanksgiving, November 24th- Thursday and Friday customers will be delayed one day.
  • Christmas Day, December 25th- NO DELAYS

Billing

  • Payment is due by the 1st of the month for our monthly customers. Quarterly and annual customers payments are due by the 1st of the month their service is scheduled to start.
  • Statements are sent 15 days prior to their due date. If payment is not received before the 15th of the month, service may be suspended.
  • Service will be prorated when necessary. We accept personal checks, online payments and auto pay sign up.

Refunds

In the unfortunate event, you need to cancel your service, we abide by the following policy.We must be notified of the cancellation 30 days prior to the end of you service package (i.e. monthly, quarterly or annually). We will provide refunds for prepaid annual service only and return refundable deposits within 30 days of the last date of service. Carts must be usable condition aside from only normal wear and tear.

Inclement Weather

Safety is our top priority in everything we do. If we are unable to collect due to inclement weather, you will be notified via email and collection will resume when it is safe to do so. 

Helping Hands Service

We offer Helping Hands Service to all customers ages 65 years and up and/or those with disabilities. This service is provided for a small monthly fee. Carts must be outside of the residence by 7am on the day of collection. Carts will be placed outside of the residence in an easy to see and access area. Drivers will not enter yards through gates or move property to retrieve carts.

We cannot accept the following Items for disposal.

  • Automotive parts, motor oil and tires
  • Batteries
  • Bricks, stones and other building materials
  • Computers, TVs, small appliances and all other electronic devices
  • Concrete
  • Cooking Oil (Add animal litter to solidify)
  • Cement
  • Drummed waste
  • Fluorescent bulbs or tubes
  • Gas tanks or cans
  • Hazardous material such as paints, pesticides, driveway sealant, contaminated oils and solvents
  • Liquid waste of any kind
  • Needles or syringes

Yard Waste

We are happy to collect up to 10 brown paper bags weighing no more than 40lbs each containing yard waste. Yard waste collection is not seasonal and is billed throughout the entire year.

  • Shrubbery trimmings
  • Brush and tree trimmings that are both less than 2 inches in diameter and 4 feet long

  • Dirt
  • Rocks
  • Stones

  • Tree stumps
  • Sand

Bulky Items

We are happy to collect bulky items on your regular pick up day with prior notification. If we have not received prior notification, it is at the driver’s discretion if they can pick up the items on your regular pick up day. Customers will be charged based on the items collected. Items sitting next to, touching or otherwise may be confused as trash will be collected. 

If you do not wish to have something collected, please do NOT place it near your trash receptacle.
